I Say Ix-Nay the Oons-Kay

...artwork.  Yep, that's my unadulterated opinion.
But for Style Imitating Art's inspiration it's great!

Pink Bow by Jeff Koons

So let's put that behind us, shall we?  And style on...

Moi On Top of  Pink Bow
See more of what's really going on after the break...

I'm wearing a kimono I just made from a lovely Asian tablecloth given to me by the ever-astonishing Ms. Melanie of Bag and a Beret

I used both the right & wrong sides of the tablecloth, both were gorgeous!

Underneath the kimono, is my tunic top that I made pre-Project Minima, but lately refashioned to fit.  Doesn't it coordinate perfectly?  And there's a stuffed cat pin I made during one of my jewelry bouts.

some old gold silk ribbon I had on hand - just enough for ties

I was given a stash of alluring fabrics from my hairdresser of 30 years, Boba.  The coral orange satin-y parachute harem cargo pants are made from old boudoir curtains.  And of course, what could go better than THE golden boots with such an ensemble?

It's a phoenix curling around from front to back
These pants have 8 pockets!

For close ups of the clothes and patterns they came from, just click on the items in bold text.

Meanwhile I think I'm visible enough for Patti's Not Dead Yet Style and the crowd at Monday Mingle.  Come and see what others have styled up from the Koons painting at Style Imitating Art tomorrow, Tuesday.  whoo-hoo, can't wait.

  5. Pao, I think you and I will have to fight for the skirt!! But hey, maybe we can make a counterfeit and then post at the same time. Then we'll really confuse them, huh?!! Whaddya say?!! In the meantime, you are glorious in your orange ensemble. I suspect the material from Melanie is super special, and you've used it perfectly. AND you already had orange parachute pants? What are the chances of that, I ask you. Talk about serendipity. I like you better than the bow. XXOO

    2. I'm fine with doing a one-two punch with the skirt, after all we're both in the States at least. You first and me second. Ha, now to just get if from wherever to here.

No, I made the kimono first and the orange parachute pants immediately thereafter. Both fabrics were given to me, but by different people.

  6. Just be glad you didn't have to be a buxom cartoon character having sex with the Pink Panther...unless you're into that sort of thing? LOL.
My goodness, you certainly know how to transform a table cloth and curtains! Absolutely a gorgeous shimmering vision of spring and decadence. Especially with your golden boots. And that kitty pin.

    1. I had to age that tablecloth for awhile before I dared do anything with it. I have ideas for the sheer curtains with gold doo-dads embroidered on it too, but can't quite commit yet. Thanks for the treasures.

  13. Really beautiful, Pao. I'm so glad to see lots of Asian prints, and kimono ... your tablecloth kimono, best. Just luscious colors. We should just be inspired by what you do every week and call it good.
Couldn't come out to play at SIA this week. Barely got to VM. But so happy you Represented!

  15. Why do so many of your outfits remind me of fashions of the 1920s/30s? I guess it's the shape and fabrics you choose. Your a vision in peach in this luxurious kimono and I love the fabric and color of the harem pants.
