With the Fishes

What a difference a week makes!  More on that later.
Today I'm focusing on the inspiration for Style Imitating Art:

David Wiesner, from his book, Flotsam

So here I am underwater again
wearing my newly made, Koos designed, kaftan

plus my nail polished, polka dotted, $ store reading glasses and my newly painted old sandals.

Darn.  I did it again.  Hit publish before I was finished posting.  sigh.  Okay, let me continue after the break.

  • I have to connect the embolden word link ups. (check 5-21)
  • And hook up with SIA, Patti at Not Dead Yet Style, & Monday Mingle. (check 5-21)
  • I also want to edit and add more images of the kaftan - coming soon.  here now. (check 5-21)

round
and round
I go

But meanwhile some story-telling.  Last post was Mom Trip.  The next day she was in ER.  She's now in ICU.  We rushed to the hospital late last night (6 hours away) when the doctor called sounding dire.  I had just finished making my kaftan and was wearing it, by the way.  Pretty shocking, not the kaftan, but seeing her in such a state.  I don't think I can say anything else.

I was glad to be able to do the SIA easily enough, but that seems to be it.

  1. Oh so sorry to hear your mom's very ill. I am sending positive thoughts and hoping she will be out of danger soon. Your art-inspired look is wonderful, and nothing is more important right now than your mother's well being.

  2. Oh no! I'm also sorry to hear that your mother is very ill. A six-hour rush away is pretty intense. Wrap yourself tight in your awesome kaftan. Breathe. I hope your mother pulls out of this okay. Hugs.

  3. Awesome caftan and can't wait for close-ups.
I feel for you, and hope your Mom is better. In two weeks I am moving home to take care of my mom, I know blogging about dresses won't always be paramount then. Take care!
