Autumn Batik

 - is the name I found wrapped in my fabric.   And my dress pattern is called Mona Wrap.  hmmm.

~ I kid you not. ~
I'm standing in the Cosmetology room which is next door to mine at school.  They have a nicer color wall paint.

~ Dress pattern by Tina Givens, scarf made by Sara ~

~ and boots from ebay. ~

Another day, same dress and another pair of shoes boots shoes...

~ And this is not my house ~

But there was this pretty matching tie, tied on the railing as we were strolling by.  Surely as good a sign as any for a photo op.

~ omg, a closer-upper ~

~ & le footwear from ebay ~

I'll be joining all the Visibles at Patti's Not Dead Yet Style when it goes live Monday, so come and join the party.  And while I'm at it, let's do Not Dressed As a Lamb's I will wear what I like link up: Statement Shoes.  The other pair will go to Style Nudge's Shoe and Tell.  Come on over and check us all out!

Ed. note.  This just in:  I'm wearing rust!  So I can join Spy Girl's 52 Pick-me-up: Rust for this week's party.

    3. ahh, I have all of them, but have only made the 1st and last one you listed. I don't even want to talk about the cirque dress. But the last one turned out terrific! Can't wait to see all of yours.

    1. I don't know, I guess they're boots. I just 'hate' the word booties, or shooties, or...

  4. Haha, I love that someone tied a tie on the fence. Party inside? But it was indeed a sign. Your footwear is always a party. And those socks! This is a fantastic autumn palette indeed. Rich, jewel tones, and you are sporting some gorgeous bling too. I want a cosmetology room in my home.

    1. I know, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the tie (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I'm wearing amber and pretty colored glass. Well let me tell you, my classroom has a massage chair, manicure table and some sort of reclining lounge.

    1. Either that or they're decorating the fence. At any rate, the colors went perfectly with my newly sewn dress!

  6. I spent two frustrating hours yesterday trying to find an autumn floral print dress. Nada. Love your fabric and your dress--so beautiful and seasonal. It may be a first for me, but you've inspired me to go to a fabric store next. (I did find some boots tho so wasn't a complete failure.)

    1. Well, I am pleased about that, Marea. Going to a fabric store is so much more fun than a clothes store. No comparison. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

  7. Love the print mixed with the purple. So perfect for the weather we're having this week. I was a little frustrated this morning when I was dressing as it's too cool for lighter, summer things and too warm for anything too heavy. You nailed it with this dress :)

    1. Hey Rhonda, I know, last week it was August in September and today I've got on knee sox and a floor length sweater! Of course it's cooler near the lake...

  8. Oh, you just got me totally inspired for autumn and some fall ensembles. Lovely color palette and patterns. Absolutely loved the purple addition of the jacket.

  9. Oh oh oh. I was not feeling Autumny at all until I saw your dress and now I am all in! Beauti-Fall. And what kind of sign is the universe sending you when there is a matching tie on a railing? Something very cosmic and fashionable no doubt. I love your shoes as much as I love French pastries...which is a lot!

    1. Yes, you can wear these colors no matter where you live. And the thing about shoe love, they don't make you fat.

  11. What a fab dress and not one but two killer pairs of boots.
Autumn is here today, yesterday it was winter and on Saturday it was summer. I'm hoping it'll be spring tomorrow so I can go car booting without the need for thermals and a coat. xxx

    1. Good luck with your dial-a-weather, Vix. We have had winter yet, just back and forth with Fall and Summer so far. Luved seeing your VW garden!

  12. A knock-out, these combinations. I'm so glad to see the richness of brown and warm fall colors so much more accessible in stores this year, to even those of us who don't sew much. Gorgeous print on you, and love those strappy-pointy ankle booties (booties, maybe, as opposed to shoes or boots?) as well as the second pair ... very cool. Grand smile, as well, Pao.

  15. The first "Rust" contribution of the week! And so early in the day (for me) as well! Yay!
I love everything going on in this post. The mirrors of the Cosmetology room! The pattern and colors of your dress! The shoe/boots/shoes! AND THE NECKTIE!!!!!!
    [deep breath]
The silhouette that you have going on here? It's the one that works for me as well. Very Paul Poiret circa 1919.

You mean my empire waist wrap-around dress has style from way back when? wow.

  16. I think this might be one of my most favourite dresses of yours! The colours speak to me (Hellooooo) and the shape is very cool. And of course, you always have great footwear. I never have any luck finding shoes on Ebay that are my size and inexpensive.

    1. The colors are yummy, aren't they? I've got at least 3 dresses I've made in the same style. But in different fabrics and prints, so they each have their own vibe.
The ebay shoes have come about over the years. Sometimes it happening, other times there's nothing going on my size, style and/or price range.
