Repeat! Repeat!

Seeing as I'm a bit late for the party at Not Dead Yet Style, I'm reaching back into the vault today.  Here I am wearing my hand-me-down flannel shirt...transformed into plaid pants!  Yes you heard right and here's the pic to prove it, y'all.

Before...

After!

I'm wearing a refashioned poet's top, the remade flannel shirt pants, and old platform shoe boots.  (Click on bold type to get to that item's origins.)  I was trying to finish my next corduroy project, but it's not going to be wearable in time, so hey, flannel's the next best thing.  Back to sewing.

Oh, I'm linking up with Patti's Not Dead Yet Style, of course.  And also the Monday Mingle.  Late.  Then there's Lakota's Ta-dah Tuesday.  And now Ethical Fashion Bloggers November's DIY challenge.

This just in:  I'm linking up to Spy Girl's 52 Pick-me-up: Honey!  Check it out.

  1. that is a totally awesome refashion!! LOVE it!! You are inspiring me to look at things at the thrifts in terms of their FABRIC for future projects as opposed to their wearability in in their current incarnation!!

  6. I STILL adore those. If I saw them in a store - any store, I'd buy them. If I had better luck sewing pants, I'd totally attempt a similar pair because I love those so much. My shirt-to-skirt refashion turned out alright, but your pants win hands down.

    1. I've never done the shirt-to-skirt thing Megan. But the shirt-to-pants is practically done for you. Just step into the arms as legs and then work your way up for the rest, you know, one way or another. Your pants-to-skirt was spectacular.

  7. I think I said last time that I was going to rush out and rework a shirt into pants because you look so smashing in these. Great outfit, Pao! I love how you come at your pieces without preconceptions which allows you to really transform them. That's art!

  9. I love your funky laid back style. Very original idea I'd say and the color is really great too. I need to move into the house across the street from you. We can revel in the "no tree" thing and send each other goodies in December.

    1. Okay, sounds good. I don't think that house is for sale, but maybe the neighbors won't mind...

  10. These pants are totally genius. I really must join you in doing even more refashioning from what I already own. I just used up most of my stash of thinner grey and black sweaters making my serape. So do I thrift some more sweaters or get really creative with all the detritus I have laying around?! You are my idol. I bow to your artistic wisdom and vision.

    1. Yes! Yes, you can do both! My true love just got me a subscription to Altered Couture for Christmas!!! And as a starter, he picked up the current issue last night and presented it to me! It is so cool. And you are totally in it all over. Wow, Jean. I am so impressed. I want to try everything. So right back at ya: I bow to your artistic wisdom and vision!

  11. Hey Pao,
IF you want me to mail you the dress so you can make a pattern from it I think it would be fun. And then you could model your creation!! Whaddayasay?

    1. Oh no, that's too much to ask. I think I could probably figure out something close to it by looking at it. We'll see. Then we could both model it!

  14. Bloody hell, there's not much you can't completely redesign. So clever.

  15. The terms brilliant and genius seem to be bandying about above and I can see why! The way the pants looks is GREAT and the fact you did that from a pair of pants is beyond clever. It is sheer brilliant genius. Nobel Prize for Refashion is in the mail I'm sure!
