(A) Way To Go

~ Photograph from the Levitation Series by Natsumi Hayashi  ~

I've gotta keep moving.  Tomorrow's the end of Summer quarter here, the report will be due with all the completed projects posted.  (hands to head!)  Nothing like a deadline.

Here's the latest thing finished.

 layering over a dark sheath
is my new high-low dress
in a semi-sheer abstract print
You can see the dress up close and personal, plus the pattern used on my Clothes for Summer page.  And now for something really interesting...

You may have noticed I'm not in my usual surroundings.  I'm at my friend, S's place.  Having just given her a kimono top that looked so much better on her than me, meet S in my freshly made tablecloth couture.

ahh, do I like this or not?
yeah, okay, I think it works

Shining S!
Hey!
You can also see details of S's top and pattern used on the Clothes for Summer page.  whoo-hoo!

  1. Ooooh, I love the high-low dress! It seems quite Art Nouveau layered like that.

  2. That semi sheer dress is perfection! I don't know how you do it. How nice to make something for someone else. Tablecloth kimono...what a great idea! Xo JJ (seems you have two JJ friends!)

    1. Well...I was making it for myself, but it simply looked better on S, so apparently I was making it for her.

    1. I think it will be too. Somehow it reminds me of the sheer feather-turns-to-wood fabric you picked up at the Textile Outlet. Whatever did you create from that amazing material?

    1. I have it on right now, only with my hand-made sheer-ish peach colored bloomers that barely peak out. So cool and comfy.

  5. I bet that dress feels luscious on. I love anything loose and flowy like that. Yesterday in my sewing room I cut about 8 inches from the bottom of a kimono robe and will wear it more now shorter. Then I made a scarf from the cut off part.
It's gettin' so creative in here I feel like I'm levitated! ;)

I bet your friend loves her new jacket. The shaping is great with the gather in the back and in the darts in front. This reminds me to sign up for a class in October. Sewing and altering a pattern for a jacket!

    1. It does, it just falls off of me. You are a sewing monster Joni. Isn't it sew fun?! It's weird how it looked bleh on me and good on her. But that's okay, good, even. Ooo, you're in the big leagues now, sewing and altering a pattern for a jacket. Can't wait to see it!
