Fashion and Cleaning: Work Out

Must break my cleaning schedule to visit with Patti and the Visibles.  You know that can't be missed, right?

~ wearing another of my December beauties ~

Attention! Dork!

This pattern is called Adele by Tina Givens and I am looking pretty dorky here.  But I do think my refurbished 1950s bow-tie on a bolero (she means bolo) looks cool.  And my Alice in Wonderland knee socks.  ooo and my dark red Trippens for $50 bucks on ebay.

Well I gotta get back to cleaning now...

It was sure nice seeing you all again!

You can hang around if you want and visit my Clothes for Winter page (which I finally updated) to see this dress and the velvet one up close and in detail.

I'm really making progress on my sewing studio massive mission impossible.  I did have to destroy a couple other rooms in the process, but I'll get to them some time...in the future.  I mean, I can't delay sewing forever already.

This just in:  Rhonda announced Me Made Mondays are back!  Hope on over and see what the sew sisters are up to.

And this too:  It's Sheila's Shoe Shine and I'm there.  Join us.

  5. If dorky is another word for amazing then yes, you look dorky. Actually the whole look reminds a bit of Christopher Robin. Thank you so much for introducing me to Tina Givens. I just got a nice package in the mail from Tina. Can't wait to get started.

    2. I got two patterns: the Joni and the Lola. They came all wrapped up in tissue. It was a most satisfying mail order experience. Now the trick will be to find some fabric. San Diego is pretty much a craft and upholstery fabric kinda town. Yawn. Wish me luck! And yeah, come on over ANYTIME!!

    3. Oh, I know, the pink tissue paper is divine. I'll have to go see what Joni and Lola look like, I don't have either. Have fun. Their patterns are both easy and sometimes confusing. They assume you know how to sew and are a little vague about telling you what or how to do some things, but the designs are amazing, I think.

  6. Love it! The dress has a great shape and I love the fabric. You always add in the perfect shoes too. Now get back to those rooms.

Hey, your photos are looking great. You must have found your tri-pod in the piles??

  7. Bwa-ha-ha! I love your sub-title "Attention! Dork!" I could put that under so many of my photos and may have to borrow it. I love this "dork" outfit. The little bow and the balloon hem are two of my favourite things about it. (Just so's we're clear - NOT dork. It's fabulous!)

    1. Attention! Dork! is all yours, Mz Melanie. It's the least I can do for the borrowing of the TYS and Turnip Head.

    1. Hey Jean,
opps, that pants pattern is out of print now. You can probably find it on ebay though. Tina Givens has a free download for her Plinka pants which are like bloomers. Watch out though, they run really, really, really big. I'm wearing mine under my blue flannel/ tulle dress. Glad to see/ hear you getting around the sewing circle.
