Brown Prints...Can They Be Fun?

 That is the question.

~ Sure, if you mix them all up with a dash of pink! ~

~ yaa ~

I'm wearing a chiffon print kimono top with satin lapels (oop Vogue pattern), stretch mesh animal print dress (Vogue 1217 heavily modified),  light weight flannel full slip (Vogue 7837 modified).  Cloth flower pin (made by Suzanne Carillo) and old beaded necklace (?).

~ whoo-hoo ~
What's this chair doing here?!

~ over the knee sox (Sock Dreams) and groovy shoes (from ebay) ~

Am I too matchy, though?  Anyway, I'm off to join the Visibles at Patti's Not Dead Yet StyleAnd the Shoe and Tell with Cherie of Style Nudge.  Come on over and join in the festivities.

  2. I once heard a stylist say that people who wore brown didn't want to be noticed. I thought what a load of codswallop and I've proved wrong many times since. She obviously had her sunglasses on when us gals walked passed

    1. You know what they say about stylists...or anybody else that gives pronouncements on what women should or shouldn't wear: codswallop! I've never heard the word before, but it sounds like it sums up the thought perfectly.

    1. Yes, somehow or other it came together with a 1920s silhouette. You can have the sox through SockDreams.com

    1. I think the kimono knocks it off the too matchy block...otherwise...horrors

  5. I laughed when you asked, too matchy? You seem to forget that many people freak when putting one shade of beige next to another. But then you've always been exceptional. I agree, '20s silhouette, absolutely gorgeous!! I'm seeing you in a speakeasy. Great shots! And Suzanne's flower looks famous with that.

    1. I was in Vogue Fabrics one time when a woman was trying to match beige fabrics. I suggested sometimes it can look more interesting if they're a little different. Sometimes, but not now, was her reply.

  6. Where are you? I'm confused. Do your watch "The Forsyte Saga" on PBS? This is a total Irene at Robin Hill outfit. If you don't watch it take my word, Irene at Robin Hill is a very good thing. You do that 1920's boho thing so well.

    1. Good question. I really don't know what that room was for at school. Usually it's all cosmetology, but this looked more like dental hygienist or maybe Brazilian waxing... As far as the Forsyte Saga, I have no idea what you're talking about, but will talk your word for it being a good thing. Cheers.

  7. Brown seems to go with all shades of pink (and blue, and purple, etc.). I don't own much in brown at this point. I love kimono tops, the sleeves, even though they get in everything are just so elegant.

    1. The sleeves, yes. I have little teeny brown clear plastic hair clips on each sleeve to gather them up a bit so they keep out of my way as necessary. From the $ store. Brilliant, I say.

  8. OMG! Brown and pink ... fresh again! A favorite combo, and brilliantly exemplified by your pretty self and your great skills! So nice to see browns, chocolates, coffees all back in rotations. So good to see you Pat!
