Champagne and Coral Dress

~ that's how the fabric was described ~

and I liked the first dress so much, I made it again.

~ Vogue 1482 ~

This time from a very thin crinkle champagne polyester with a coral cotton jacquard woven flower.  It feels like air.

~ I do believe I'm getting to be quite subtle ~

I made it in a larger size this time.  I didn't want to risk any side seams splitting when I sat down.  You know, with such a delicate fabric.  Which made it a bit longer too.

~ full flying squirrel mode ~

Of course, she demanded her very own slip to go with.  So I made one out of a mystery bundle of fabric I'd received.  I don't know exactly what the fabric is, other than a thin knit with a bit of a sheen.  Looks kinda like something that would line a bathing suit.

Anyway, it's a very plain slip and took awhile to make since I didn't have a pattern.  I had to try it on, do something, try it on, etc.  I don't even have a picture of it.  hmmm...

~ well now I have ~

Plus the obligatory shoe shot...

~ with a message? ~

And now it's time to head on over to Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like and Cherie's Shoe and Tell.  I will miss Patti and the Visibles this week.  She's moving on down the road and will be back next week in her new abode!

Linking up to Sydney Fashion Hunter too!

  4. Well....I just got back from a long trip up in the mountains where I had no internet connection. How did we live like that for so long? Anyhoo...now I'm back and while I was away I can see that you were whipping up gorgeous frocks like a fricken' frock factory! This is a beauty. Such a pretty color. And I kinda like that you are making slips. I bought a hideous flammable polyester slip at Kohls and it is hotter than long underwear. Duh. I never thought to make one. Is it difficult? Well, for you probably not, but for a regular schmoe like me? Gosh it feels good to be back inside my computer.

    1. Good to hear from you again Connie, now that you're down from the mountain. I've been thinking of you lately cuz I've been using the TG Lola pattern for a nightgown. My goodness that pattern is a complete mess from every angle, start to finish. So, if and when you use it - know it's them not you that's completely off!

    2. Thanks for the Lola tip. That pattern is actually just collecting dust on the shelf for now anyway.
