Spring Time Checked In

at least for one day in April... (today it's raining, and tomorrow, well, all week).

~ Can you tell I've lost weight? ~

It's been two years now that I've been on my exercise regime and I've lost a total of 26 pounds!  yea.  I kicked it up a notch over the last 3 months with an added food regime that helped me drop 8 of the 26 during that time.  Mostly it's healthy eating on a regular basis.  What a concept!

~ meanwhile, I dug this raincoat out of the archives ~

Finding 20 to 30 year old pieces that I haven't worn since then.  Such a flashback is in store for MeMadeMay'19, let me tell ya.  Well, maybe not, some of them go back far enough to be store bought!

~ ta for now ~

Beside the raincoat I brought home from a swap 30 years or so ago, and the navy Mary Jane Doc Martins from ebay, I'm wearing a dress I made you can see here, my hand sewn hat here, and my hand made fingerless gloves here.

See you over at Patti's Not Dead Yet Style, Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like, Cheri's Shoe & Tell when they all go live, and Judith's Hat Attack! for April.

And I'll be seeing you every darn day in May.

  1. You look amazing, that's one heck of an outstanding weight loss. How brilliant that you can wear that raincoat again. Love the dress and the Docs, too. x

    1. I remember when you said you did something similar in cutting out snacks. Getting older is not for sissies, that's for sure. It was the weirdest feeling putting on clothes from that long ago. I felt like I was in a time warp.

    1. The majority of my clothes are made oversized anyway. Or I remade them larger, but there's some skinny jeans and fitted jackets and shirts back there. What a different look. I'll be interested to see if I can put them all together...Yes, I do feel healthier, whatever that really means.

  3. you look awesome!!! congrats on the weight loss. as i near 50 myself, i agree, this growing older thing isn't what i expected. the body definitely has its own ideas. but you are such an inspiration and i love to see what you've made, scored on ebay and how you've styled everything you share with us. keep it up!! also, i have kept most of my clothes from when i was younger and through weight shifts and fluctuations. because most of the things i've made or bought over the years are pretty timeless or not incredibly trendy (flash in the pan) it lets me shop my own storage closets and create new looks as i get inspired to try different looks at different times in my life. or makes some modifications to get the look i want! :)

    1. Hi darling dearie, Thanks so much for your kind words. It's always a thrill to find a like-minded creative spirit. Your website was fun and easy to explore and I congratulate you on doing what you like. I've made a couple of the Marcy Tilton dresses myself and I can see how they'd be a joy to make in a mix of fabulous fabrics.

    1. Hello mummabstylish. 2 stone sounds so much more impressive than 26 lbs. I'll have to look up what it actually translates to. I don't do instagram or facebook so I won't be joining your linkup, but it doesn't mean I can't look at your blog!

    1. Well, I just learned a new word. G'donya is slang for "good work" in Australian. And here I thought it was spam.

  7. Oh, this is wonderful too. The shape of the hat helps, but I get a strong feeling of those gorgeous line drawing illustration children's books in the 1920s...

    1. Yeah, I think the hat kicks it into the Twenties somehow. I don't know about the illustrated children's books though. Have to check that out.
