I'm wearing a kimono dress made from my fabric stash using the I Am Cute Dresses
Japanese sewing book, which I then reworked. The peace sign necklace is mine from the 60's as is the Indian ring/bracelet combo. The cropped pants and silver shoes were both store-bought ages ago.
Anyway, I'm going with this to Patti's at Not Dead Yet Style and Monday Mingle, so join me and all the others, for a visual feast. Oh, and I'm trying out Pleated Poppy for the first time too, even thought it's way past Wednesday...

ReplyDeleteThat was the only peace sign jewelry I had or have. But I did where a pant and tunic top made from a stretchy knit woven fabric that was - yep - peace signs. In a subtle way, of course.

ReplyDeleteYou've had some of these pieces for a long time. That means to me that you've stayed true to yourself all this time and knew who you were back then. Wonderful! I have strayed so many times trying to find myself on the outside just so I can stop thinking about it. But I find that not only do I enjoy it, I've always loved the looks of the 70's.

Yes, I can't wait to see what the next inspiring painting will be. Truth be told, I keep going back to check and see if they've put it up yet...sometimes I find I have to make something up from my stash just for the occasion! Here's to feeling the best!

ReplyDeleteI had a peace sign necklace in the 60's too, but who knows where it is after the many moves over the decades. Good to see that you have one to display with your amazing ensemble.
It's all just 50 shades of grey or so...(heh, heh)
DeleteI know, it's weird how there's some things I've kept all this time, and others I remember and would love to have now, and I just let them go without a second thought.

DeleteJust got back from a visit to Mom's and I was so disappointed to find out she had given away all her old jewelry. Darn, I was really looking forward to it. I remembered going through her vanity as a kid fantasizing over it...ah well.
