New Blue

Introducing the latest tablecloth dress (of my own invention)!
It's very symmetrical.
Yes, yes it is.
But check out the graphics.  How could I do anything but?  It's a very sturdy linen with 2 shades of blue going at full strength.   With a number of holes too.  But, hey, no problemo.  Appliques to the rescue.

For a surprise view, keep going...

Whoosh...

unbutton the front flaps and voila,
 it really is a tablecloth!
a really big one

Let us not forget the shoe views:

You'll be able to see the details of the dress up close on my Clothes for Summer page as soon as I upload them there + a sneak peak at what I'm working on next.

Meanwhile I'm rushing over to Patti's Not Dead Yet Style to join the Visibles before I'm too late for the party!  And then there's Sheila's Shoe Shine, not to be missed.  Get you kicks... Oh, and now there's Sacramento's Share-in-Style: flowers party to attend.  See you there!

  3. That is the coolest tablecloth ever and way better as a dress. You've aligned that print perfectly, mine would be all over the shop.

    1. It's nice to know it only takes a bit of unbuttoning to just sail away.

  5. Your dress has wings, ever so essential. Gaa. A most gorgeous garment of symmetry. Maybe you're hiding cats in there. Your shoes remind me of boxing - but I like that butterfly flitting. Wonderful creation. I like how you follow this outfit's free will.

  8. No kidding! The shoes are ALWAYS to die for. Meanwhile, the dress is fantastic. Again. You did steal my wings though mine are not quite so fancily patterned! Love the blue and white.

    1. Oh Louisa, wings have been around forevah now. Were yours from the Tiltons? I've just buttoned mine up, not being a free spirit and all...

  9. An artwork! Fascinating. Depends if you want to take up a lot of space or a little. Not easy to make symmetry. You got skillz!
I'm thinking your shoe closet must be bursting! But every one a gem :-)

    1. The cloth did all the work in the symmetry department. The shoes, however, are taking over...and I like it!

    1. Oh sure, I got them on ebay. The brand is Giraudon and they are no longer in business, but they or something similar in style show up once in awhile

  12. You really are a genius! Your tablecloth dress series could be a museum exhibit! When you run out of tablecloths, I have a cedar chest full. They could use a new life.

    1. (Intake of breath!) One can only imagine the treasure trove of tablecloths the Style Crone has collected. Is there a tablecloth museum?

  13. That is such a cool dress - I love the pattern and the way you have incorporated wings that can fold up, or fly free. I agree with Judith that this series should have an exhibit somewhere.
