Evergreen in the Snow

~ Me, as a Christmas Tree ~

~ with flashing bike light as hair ornament ~

Wearing my first make of the Tina Givens Lotus pattern sewn from cotton jersey.  I hand-stitched it with multi-colored thread that goes through the color wheel of primary and secondary colors.   Maybe you can see it better here...

~ plus $1 store reading glasses & scarf from Goodwill ~

~ not to mention, Irregular Choice pixie boots from ebay ~

Happy Holidays to each and everyone.  See you all next year!

But first, let's link up with Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like, for some Christmas cheer!

    1. Hi Helen, Those heels are just a wee bit too high for me. But they work fine for special occasions like this.

  3. You are a vision in your Lotus pattern, although you make a fantastic tree. The bike light as a hair piece is genius! Hahaha. And the elf boots, I didn't know such awesomeness existed. Happy Holidays to you and True Love! XO

    1. Yeah well, True Love made me give his bike light back immediately after the photo-ing. Like I'm not using it for it's divine purpose...

  5. Love this so much! Would you share your tinkering with this pattern? It looks like the front side darts were taken all the way to the shoulder and that the center back dart and pleat were connected? I love the shaping that I see! Happy New Year from Madison!

    1. hmm, tinkering...I've made at least four of these Lotus dusters and I think I change each according to the fabric used. With this cotton jersey, it kept stretching and stretching, so I probably kept right on going with the darts in the pattern. Taking them up and over the shoulder on both sides in the front and combining the center back one into a pleat. As you can see, the sleeves got so long, I've had to roll them up. I've had multiple closures on this one. Currently it's just the tie out of self fabric. So Bex, do you have a blog I can see?

    2. How lovely that someone would think I'd have a blog...sorry, no. I sure love visiting yours and those you recommend, though. After a too-long break, I'm gearing up to sew for myself again. Your fabulousness is an inspiration!

    1. Thanks about the tree comment...it's good since we don't indulge in that custom. Ebay shoes are another thing altogether.
