The Luella, Oprah & Tessa Ensemble, Live

This Just In from Pao-land:

I am fit to sew again

and that makes me sew happy!

~ fresh off the sewing machine just this week ~

Well... actually, the top was made last summer.  But... I made the slip/ dress and pants this week.

~ doesn't my yard sale bag go with everything? ~

When I made the Luella top out of green plaid linen, I still had enough left over to squeeze out the Oprah pants.

~ caught in the act of pushing up my reading glasses ~

But it was the addition of the stretch mesh Tessa slip/ dress that made my heart sing.

~ wild thing ~

Yea, she makes everything groovy.

All clothes are modified from Tina Givens Patterns:  Luella Tunic, Oprah Pants and Tessa Slip/ Dress.

~ hairclip from Suzanne Carillo received at the Vancouver Blogger Meet-up ~

What I'm attempting to show off here is my graying hair.  I've (finally!) got a bit of a streak going at my temples that usually gets covered up by my overlying hair.  But with the aid of Suzanne's loverly hairclip, voila.

And finally,

~ les Blowfish shoes from ebay ~

I'm showing up at the ever-visible Patti and the Visibles @ Not Dead Yet Style.  Annes, 52 Pick-up Completion grande finale can't be missed.  Also Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like and Cherie's Shoe and Tell when they go live.  Hope to see you all everywhere!

The Last Tablecloth Dress

Although I didn't know that at the time...

~ Hi, I'm having a delightful time in the neighborhood ~

It was a lovely day, weather-wise.  And I'm wearing one of the last of a series of tablecloth dresses I made based on Marcy Tilton's French house dress pattern, Vogue 8813.  In fact, this series really took off on Pinterest last year or so when I started them.  Something like 5,000 pins each...  And I didn't even have a pinterest page or whatever.

~ back view ~

This was one of the few (only?) that used one tablecloth for the entire dress.  All the others combined at least 3 to make a dress and that was the fun part - auditioning cloths to see which ones worked best together.

~ I just luv this dress ~

And it's so nice to bring them all out every summer.  Loverly old linen dresses that can be thrown in the wash and come out looking even better than ever.  Somehow I never got around to getting this one photo-ed with me in it.  So here we are.  Thanks Sara.

Lovely Day in the Neighborhood Dress

~ Just hanging out with my new Buddy ~

That's the name of the pink beauty parked at the curb.  No, it's not really mine.  I'm just pretending.

Think anybody will mind if I move in a little closer?...

~ ahhh, sweet ~

Oh yea, it's about the clothes.  I made this awhile ago and never got it photo-ed, etc.  The dress is from a Mizono pattern, Vogue 1410.  The dress is cool, because it buttons up inside at the side seams so it can be worn ankle length, knee length or as a tunic.  The bolero is a very modified version from Simplicity 4192.  I just picked up that lovely light mauve coach purse at my neighborhood yard sale for $4.

~ and I'm off...  ~

But first, a parting shot of my new-to-me Trippen sandals from ebay.

~ woo-hoo! ~

...to Patti and the Visibles at Not Dead Yet Style,  Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like, and Cherie's Shoe and Tell.  Plus, I think I have some neutral and black going on in there for Anne's 52: Pick me up.  Yea.  That about covers it.  See you there!
