How did I get here, you might ask. To the Seven Circles of the Sewing Cycle?
You know (sequence and duration may vary): La De Dah, Denial, Anger, Negotiation, WTF, Acceptance and Now What?
Perhaps you've noticed my lack of participation in the bloggerhood lately, my barely being there. I stand before you now and confess, this is why. My Sewing Machine Broke!

See you on the other side.
Glad you were able to find another machine that works for you. Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteah yes, thank goodness this phase of the journey is over. Thanks for sticking around during my lapses, Louisa.
DeleteUh oh - you are a Valkyrie behind the Viking now, with that huge dramatic music pushing you onwards. How exciting. It's sad about your Singer, but new gadgets? I'm guessing you have a few... Don't forget to eat and drink. I love that machine sculpture.
ReplyDeleteooo, ooo Das Rhinegold?, yah. My my new Viking is so exciting, I can't sleep at night.
DeleteOh my gosh. That happened to me last year. It went through a serious withdrawl...and I'm only a casual user. You have my sympathies. Hoping you find a sturdy new machine....even though I Lurve that fabric one.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm an every day user, so it was unspeakably disorienting. I think I may have been in and out of a coma some of the time.
DeleteBut there's a Viking in my life now. sigh.
Oh no! What a catastrophe. I'd offer to lend you mine if we didn't live oceans apart! xxx
ReplyDeleteMaybe I could house sit (i.e., sewing sit) while your on vacation....
DeleteLast year my singer bit the dust 2 weeks from christmas, ---not good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have recovered soundly and are only having a sympathetic flashback on the anniversary of such a crime.
Deletei´m glad it was only the sewing machine!!!
ReplyDeletei would never by a singer - sorry. bernina if it has to be a portable (or serger) - i use since ages "textima" industrial machine and the home version "veritas" from the 50s - but it would be hard to get them in the west :-)

ReplyDeleteI have a Pfaff which has been going strong for 20 yrs or more...touch wood!
Husqvarna sounds great! You'll be out cutting down trees next! (They make the best chainsaws)
Looking forward to your return, sewn item or not :-) xo Jazzy Jack

DeleteOoo, my condolences for the demise of your Singer! I'm glad you've found a new machine, and I hope it soon fills the hole in your heart, and your closet ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelley, it certainly put me at a loss for awhile. But I'm back on track, more or less, now.
