Mix it all together, and what do you get? An Oscar-worthy gown, by golly!
~ Venus approved ~ |
Okay, maybe if I was a celebraty (mispelling intentional, well, not at first), I would be showing more fleshiness. But I just mentioned the Oscars because it was timely. Whereas my gown is timeless.
~ Been here long? ~ |
Those of you that have been around the block with me before, may remember this beauty. Truly it's worth a repeat trip to the big show, don't you think?
~ nothing twirls like tulle ~ |
As if you haven't guessed by now, I made this from a bunch of stuff I had or that was given to me by friends: the tulle, the big ole flannel shirt, the scraps of drapery. The bloomers are made from Tina Givens free Plinka pants pattern using fabric stash. Fingerless gloves are a knockoff from Alabama Chanin's book, using couching as a decorative technique on scrap fabric.
~ Boots are from ebay ~ |
Oh, one moment please...please stand by...this just in.
~ omg, omg! I believe I've won! ~ |
Without further ado, I'm headed off to the Visibles party at Patti's Not Dead Yet Style. Everyone's there. Then I'll be joining Catherine's I Will Where What I Like link-up (but, of course). And Cherie's Shoe and Tell. ooo, ooo I'm wearing all kinds of blue, so I'll be heading over to Anne's 52 Pick Me Up finally!!!
wow! you are ready to enter the red carpet!!!
ReplyDeletelove all the textures going on in different blues and patterns - who needs to show some flesh if one can wear a gown like this!!
your question: no - i do not know an other translator than google´s own. and it is very bad for my needs too. i never learnt english in school - international bloggers are my teachers. meanwhile i do write comments like that without a translator.... *proud* :-)
hugs! xxxxx
Now that's what I call impressive, Beate!
Deletehmmm, maybe you could write your blog in both languages...for us feeble one-language types.
maybe i´ll do a small summary with the important informations in future posts - because i fear all the wit and charm is lost in the translation if the language is not the native one. ok. - with G.T. it gets lost too - but then its not my fault - hahah!!

oh, oh, oh, your wit and charm is not lost at all in translation, Beate! That is when you write in English. It would be so wonderful to be able to actually understand your blog through your words.
DeleteThat is one hell of a creation, I love it! We don't do the Oscars here but some of my Facebook friends have shared some of the sleb dresses - man, so boring! xxx
ReplyDeleteWe don't do the Oscars here (meaning my house) either, but it's easy to poke fun at them.
DeleteMuch more exciting than all those red carpet dresses and your boots are lovely. I prefer your look any day.
ReplyDeletewell thank you, thank you very much.
DeleteLove this magnificent piece of art you're wearing. You could indeed walk the red carpet (and pick up one of those swag bags the celebrities get!) Thanks for sharing and love the tag, xox

Yes, and you could have the swag bag, Patti. I'm sure I wouldn't want a thing in it.
DeleteWait... My intuition is piqued. I see location shots with movement! I see a cool printed tag but I'm not sure I understand! What changes are afoot, if any? Your creation is divine and I love the boots as well. XXXOOO
ReplyDeleteYour creative juices are overflowing, Jean. Nothing special going on here. I've been shooting photos at school on Saturdays for awhile now. And I can't help but twirl with tulle on. The label was from a show the dress was in last year. That's about it.
DeleteWell of course you won. You were a shoe in. Or I guess I should say boot in. This is truly the most wonderful use of tulle ever!! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteYep, I was booted all right. I luv tulle almost as much as I luv flannel.
DeleteDefinitely, no question, you won. This is a truly Oscar-worthy gown, and Pete and Mark and Philip... Gorgeous! I love the combo of tulle with flannel. Your creative mind boggles and delights.
ReplyDeleteI took a moment...I was like Pete?, Mark? and then Ohhh! You're the true mind boggler/ delighter, Melanie.
DeleteThat dress is a million times more interesting than any of the ones worn by the "Celebrats" at the Oscars. You are such a creative genius with fabric!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna half to look up what those brats wore to compare. Although I could probably look up any year and it would be about the same, don't you think?
DeleteFlannel on the red carpet. Rock it!
