...or Dry brushed? |
Diffused glow? |
That is the ?
I'm wearing the tunic top I refashioned to fit several weeks ago and carrying a clutch bag I made out of a Modern Painters magazine awhile back. I was on quite a kick with those things. You can see a bunch of them on my art website under Oddments, and then Accessories. The capris, clogs and sunglasses are all very old and originally store bought.
Check out the Modern Painters clutch after the jump:
side vents are accordian-folded two-sided images bonded to the body of the clutch with thermoweb |
And the groovy front side with Takashi Murakami's artwork on the cover. I tell ya, it goes with anything! |
I'll be with the Visibles on Patti's Not Dead Yet Style and Monday Mingle. Check it out.
And I'm with others at Recycled Fashion Finds and Refashion Co-op!

That print is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like it too, kind of Asian-esque, don't ya think?
DeleteOhhhh, I feel a project coming on!!! Didn't know about Thermoweb. Where do you get it? Your bag is extraordinary!!! I love the idea of an art magazine as the base. I already have one in my stash :-)
ReplyDeleteIt comes in rolls and I think I bought it online. You can get it at Joann's online, I'm not sure if they have it in the store. You can sew on it too.
DeleteYour tunic top is awesome with those deep-cuffed trousers. At first I thought your bag was part of the tunic pattern -and then it moved! If I had to choose, I'd pick the dry-brush, but it's also cool how your curtains seem to emerge out of the pink in the diffused glow.
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel a project coming on too. This is fantastic information about Thermoweb. Thanks for sharing this.
Gee Melanie, you make it all sound much more exciting/interesting just by your description! And can't wait to see what artistic creation you and Thermoweb come up with...
DeleteI'm amazed by the clutch and how it pairs perfectly with your tunic top. I love the idea of Thermoweb, but probably won't get around to following through in the midst of my organizing projects. I will just admire your creativity, and there's lots of that!
ReplyDeleteIt really does 'go' with everything. I ended up making a bunch of those clutches as gifts at one point. Sometimes I just get on a roll and I can't stop... Who knew Thermoweb would be the topic of discussion!
DeleteWell, we are a strange and crafty bunch, Pao, and we are made dizzy by your mad skillz. The magazine clutch is fab, and so is the tunic.
ReplyDeleteheehee, just the way I like them, Patti.
DeleteI want to make a magazine clutch! Where can one find this Thermowebz stuff?
ReplyDeleteOh Terri, I think I'm having a contest to see how many times Thermoweb can be mentioned in a post!
DeleteThermoweb...thank you for sharing what seems to be an art insider secret! Sounds to be a great product with so many uses! What you did with it is truly inspiring!
ReplyDelete(aie-yi-yi) Visited your site yesterday, Tamera - now that's what I call inspirational!
Deleteyou always have the best prints
ReplyDeleteXo Megan
I just found your comment in spam for some reason, Megan!?! Anyway, you always have something nice to say. I do like prints. I think you're more of a solids gal, wouldn't you say?
DeleteI will have to be on the look out for a cool magazine cover so that I could try this. Your outfit is beautiful. I love the print in your top.
