Captain America by Alex Gross |
Ms. Captain America Reporting for Duty |
Fighting those demons with style every day.
I'm wearing a RW&B tulip jacket I just made from a scrap of vintage drapery. I made my own piping using another scrap of my own home-made drapes using some yarn for the cording. First time for that and it was so easy. Piping goes all around the edges of the jacket. Click on bold type to see details of item. Pseudo button-down skirt was refashioned to fit awhile ago. Lost and found red Doc Martens, old light blue anklets and old sheriff star pin. Oh, oh, and very old silky scarf as turban and red rhinestone $ store readers.
I'll be joining Patti and the Visible gang at Not Dead Yet Style and the crowd at Monday Mingle. Tuesday morning is when Style Imitating Art goes live, so come on by and see what everyone's put together.
Captain America eat your heart out, here is the true saver of our inspiration and Joy. let´s magic flow allround thanks to dearest Pao.

Dah, dah, dah, dahhhhhhhhh.
DeleteI love your Tulip jacket!
ReplyDeleteme too.
DeleteStep aside, faded super heroes, welcome Pao! Great jacket, thanks for sharing at Cafe Visible.
ReplyDeleteWhat the world needs now, is a spot 'o pao, man. Thanks for keeping the Cafe V open for business, Patti.
DeleteYou are indeed a superhero, always. Love that jacket and your mad composition skillz -the Captain's wing at your right makes me so happy!
ReplyDeleteYep, stomp-stomp, flutter-flutter, keeps those demons at bay.
DeleteI hear some conquering hero horn-blowing music to accompany this post. In this outfit you can leap tall gardens in a single bound, run faster than a speeding dandelion seed, and I forget the other one... But you look very indomitable in this fantastic outfit.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can do all that and more!
DeleteI have been rescued from the boredom that is the day job.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Captain!
Aye, aye, Spy Girl.
DeleteWow! Your jacket has conquered my heart and soul, I'm so impressed with all the details of your glorious kick-arse outfit!
ReplyDeleteI even pulled up my socks as best I can, Desiree!
DeleteAhhhh, the turban! How beautifully it tops off the ensemble which is saving my evening. Along with vintage drapery at its best! The sheriff star pin makes Ms Captain America appear very official.
ReplyDeleteI do my best, styling one day at a time, keeping the devil of mediocrity at bay.
DeleteWow what a fun and glamorous Captain America you make! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your blog via Visible Monday, do pop by mine sometime if you fancy it.

Just doing my bit. I'll be popping by shortly, Emalina.
DeleteYou've rescued me from a day of staring at a computer screen and being driven mad editing photos! your jacket is magnificent, you really are a superhero! xxxx
ReplyDeleteAnything I can do to save the day, Vix. We're both wearing old curtains, ya' know.
DeleteYour jacket is fabulous and you look lovely as Captain America.
ReplyDelete'Bout time a woman took his place, I'd say.
DeleteCutest Cappie evah! You really are such a superhero. WHAM! PAO!!!
ReplyDelete(Have I mentioned that my son The Ninja owns a comic book store? We know from superheroes around here!)
Holy Dragonfly! I did not know that. That's what's needed - a fashion superheroine comic book!
DeleteThat jacket makes my heart sing! You're a superhero, Pat! You fight the boring world with color and pattern and uniqueness.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, you make my heart sing...you make every thang groovy, wild thing...oh come on, come on now, wild thang.
DeleteI love the tulip jacket - is it really made from old curtains? I'm amazed! You and Vintage Vix have made me look at curtains and bedsheets anew.
ReplyDeleteYes it is. Someone gave me a scrap of it and I had just enough to make the jacket.
DeleteWhat an amazing print on that jacket. Do you have more of the curtain left for another project? Very cool interpretation.
ReplyDeleteI know, I've never seen anything like it. But that's about it for the fabric. I only had a small scrap of it to begin with. I love your Capt. Am.
DeleteThe tulip jacket is gorgeous. I have a dress that was made from vintage drapery fabric. It's remarkable.
ReplyDeleteThe whole way you put this together is too cool. I wish I could sit down with you and see how you do this techno-art-thingy that you do so well. Telling me is useless because I won't have a clue as to what you're talking about. Oh well. I can admire from afar.
Really I'm a novice at computering, so it's not that hard. I just play around with photo shop at its most basic level and see what happens.
DeleteBeautiful jacket, Pao ... hope to see it again! You are so a super-hero. You know I gotta love, love, love this whole thing!
ReplyDeleteI loved your Wonder Woman submission this week, Jan. So clever. And spy-girled too. woo-hoo. Too much fun around the bloghood these days.
Deleteoh i love this! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it Jane, I'm stopping by to see what you've got going at your place.
DeleteWhat a cool jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for hosting Monday Mingle, Kristin!
