You can put me in the bushes, but I'm a city girl through and through.
~ yeah, bay-bee ~ |
So what's with the Frankie part, you ask. It's the name of the Tina Givens pattern I used (with some liberties) for the crop top and pants.
The lovely sketch of the NYC skyline with selected blotches of ballet pink fabric is from my fav online shop, here.

For an extra sweet treat...
~ looking good ~ |
These lovely well-dressed ladies arrived at the cafe while I was there. I was so impressed that I asked if I could take a picture. That's when they said, "Oh, we're not together." Okay, can I still take a picture? You all look so beautiful in your summer frocks. "Yes!" And done.
So shall we go on over to Patti and the Visibles at Not Dead Yet Style? How about Catherine's I Will Wear What I Like and Cherie's Shoe and Tell? Hope to see you all there.
Ahhh you know I adore that fabric. The Chrysler Building! Fabulous outfit, thanks for sharing the joy with Vis Monday, xo

DeleteLove the outfit and the print is absolutely fab

It would be nada without the print, don't ya think?
DeleteThat outfit is killer, love the cityscape print!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty do those girls look? So good to see young women in girly dresses instead of denim and leggings. xxx
I know. I just had to take their pix, I tell ya.
DeleteOoooooo, Pao, I adore that outfit! I would love to have something like that to wear all summer (although I would want it in the reverse print - black background with white print and trim). Do the pants have a waistband or elastic?
ReplyDeleteI made the pants with a drawstring waistband. That's my preferred method so I can wear them slung low on the hips or high above my waist. I make the tie of the drawstring open on the inside rather than the outside so it doesn't show, if you get my drift.
DeleteI made a winter Frankie too, out of velvet with linen trim. The post is called Copper and Wine from February 2016. https://projectminima.blogspot.com/2016/02/copper-and-wine.html
What a wonderful outfit Pao...Your amazing at adapting patterns. I love the fabric...so inspirational and the girlies look lovely too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe adaptations are for my own good and really can't be helped. Plus they are Tina Givens patterns and can't be avoided.
DeleteJust the perfect outfit for summer in the city! (The summer that we aren't experiencing much right now.) And I've seen a lot more girls in dresses lately too. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteIt's been HOT here and I've been staying in air conditioning all the while. sewing.
DeleteI know, I can't help but smile and tell them they look beautiful.
looove that fabric!!!!!
ReplyDeleteand how fabulous is your moon brooch and the ballet-like shoe laces - matching the sky line graphic and the pink!!! gorgeous!
yes - girls in dresses are a rare sight this days. all seem brainwashed by the jeans producers ;-)
xxxxx
Love your outfit - that is great fabric.Very pretty moon brooch too.
ReplyDeleteI love the moon brooch filling out the skyline, and the way you always always finish telling the story with your feet.
ReplyDeleteAnother hit out of the park! Xo Jazzy Jack
