Dance of the Seven Veils Workout

for MeMadeMay'18, Day #7.

~ I made it all in burnt orange ~

~ phew, let me catch my breath ~

This cardigan mesh thing is made from Tina Givens Leigh pattern.  I rarely ever wear it.  I think it looks biblical, like the burning bush or something.  But today I thought, why not go all the way.

~ today's workout ensemble ~

Minus the shoes, of course.  The tunic is from a failed Tina Givens Tessa top pattern that I made work.  The harem pants are from Sandra Betzina's Vogue 1355.  I just added patch pockets and a drawstring waist rather than elastic.  The fabric is soft, lightweight challis.

~ the after workout pose ~

The bits of white fabric were added to the tunic to try to spruce it up.  Really, so the whole thing didn't look so much like pjs.  Do you think it did the trick?

And just to keep the matchy-matchy going:

~ Trippens from ebay ~

~ later ~

Hey, I think I'll do a two-fer with Patti at Not Dead Yet Style.  I'm on a roll.   Catherine's I Will Where What I Like is just going live today, and so is Cherie's Shoe and Tell.

  1. No! It does not look like sleepwear, I would not have thought of it until you brought up the subject. That fabric is gorgeous, love the whole ensemble.

    1. Thank goodness, although I would wear it anyway - at the least to workout!

    1. Oh thanks so much for letting me know, thornberry. I often wonder if I should bother with MMM since it takes time away from sewing to take the pix and blog daily. I mean, I wear what I make daily, regardless. But getting feedback really makes it worthwhile.

  3. Fantastic outfit. I'm in awe of your Tina Givens fails. You have got a great eye for detail and color. Please continue to post to MMM and I'll promise to comment more!

    1. Ha! Yes, there is a TG continuum in my experience: From out of the box successes, to a range of adaptations, to creative failures and, finally out and out hopeless flops.

Thanks for your MMM commitment, bkind2all.

  4. HOW do you find all those Trippens on Ebay??? All the orange-ness is fab, and I like the bird pattern and the extra white bits you added.

    1. I look almost every day. There's more Trippens then ever on ebay now and they're still very high priced...but every now and then a miracle happens when a very low price, the right size and the coolest style come together. yep.
The extra white bits really made the piece work. It was really not happening before that.
