Day #11

~ in all linen ~ |
And again, I've never worn these two items together before.
tsk-tsk. The wrap-around dress is made from the book
Simple Modern Sewing. Sizing runs very small, so I did have to enlarge the pattern generally and while at it, I raised the waist to empire style.

~ showing off my bloomers ~ |
The bloomers are from
Tina Givens Greta pants pattern. I think the only change I made was to use a drawstring at the waist rather than elastic. You can see me wearing them with the Greta dress
here.

~ and Skecher shoes from ebay ~ |
Don't you find drawstring alone falls down? I need at least a little gentle elastic with my drawstring. Maybe because I have no hips!
ReplyDeleteBloomers really add warmth and cuteness don't they?!
And I love the dress fabric!

I like using the drawstring because I can adjust it however I want - wearing it high-waisted or slung low on the hips. Plus I can make it out of the same fabric or whatever I have on hand. I have no problem keeping drawstring waistlines where I want them. Whereas elastic is worn one way only and costs more. Anyway, that's my story.
DeleteAnother great combination. I love the dress print!
ReplyDeleteI like the two together too, Radostin. I think it's actually rather subtle with the pants peeking out beneath the dress. Believe it or not, the print linen was from Joann's! I never buy anything from there, but saw the print online and had to have it!
