Boy, Am I Outta Whack...

I don't want to get into it:  how confused I seem to be.  I mean really off.
Nevertheless, here I am with a hat on.  And I made it.

sigh.  I made it by hand, while I sat by Mom's bed the last few days of her life.
It took days and days and that was good.

So now I can finally join Judith's Hat Attack!  whoo-hoo.  See you there.

  1. I am honored that you shared the beautiful hat that you made at your mother's bedside during the last few days of her life. Hat Attack welcomes you!

I am so sorry for your loss and understand your confusion. 'Outta Whack' is the perfect way to put it.

    1. Thanks Judith, for having an event where I can wear it. I wasn't planning on mentioning anything about its provenance, and then when I saw it again, it hit me, wham.

  2. Dear Pao, please be gentle with yourself. Your loss has given your world a different shape; the confusion is part of mourning. I lost my Mum 6.5 years ago, I still sometimes feel I can't quite get my head around it (she was 53; I was 28; my eldest daughter was one year old). Your hat is wonderful.

  4. I'm glad you have such a hat to wrap protectively around your weary head. The fog will lift. You've had a slow shock, the saddest one of all. I'm glad you find little sparkles of energy like the one it took to take this photo. Beautiful you.

  5. Have patience with yourself, dear Pao. The fog is temporary and it will blow away eventually. You look comforted in your sweet hat. Big hugs!

  6. Darling Pao ... so sorry you feel dreadful. Can't assure you when it will pass, but can wish you a speedy recovery. Please get plenty of rest, be kind to yourself, try do things that make you feel better. Can you spoil yourself a little? Thinking of you. It sucks to lose a parent, or any loved one.

  7. Pao, so nice to see a link from you- we've missed you at Style imitating art! I love your beautiful hat- you are so clever. I am sorry that it is associated currently with sad memories but then at the same time, like Vix said, I hope you come to love it for the same reason x

  10. It's an awesome hat. I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum, but I'm glad you were able to be with her in her last days. I think that's a very special time, even if it is sad. I know your Mum was happy to have you with her, and that you were still creating.
