 FLANNEL FROCKS, man.

Well, that just about wiped me out.  I might have to do a part two for the actual post...I guess you already have an idea of what it's about.

Okay, here's a pix to tide you over.

~ Me and My Cat Rockin' ~

Okay, I'm back.  It's a new day.  Let's do this thing.

~ Flannel button-down dress made from ancient Butterick pattern 4629 ~

~ 14 lovely yellow wooden buttons were used in the creation of this dress ~

My New Viking Sewing Machine is most excellent at making buttonholes automatically and can even sew on the buttons!  la-de-dah.

~ socks from Sox Dreams, shoes refashioned by moi, originally from ebay ~

Now I'm ready to join Patti and the Visibles at Not Dead Yet Style!  Cherie at Shoe and Tell.  And Catherine at I'll Wear What I Like.  yeah.

    1. snicker. That's Tiki cat. He has a brother named Ronde. They're named after football players that were/are brothers: Tiki and Ronde Barber. I named them. My true love named the Albertine after a character in Proust.

  4. Hahaha!! What was the flannel doing in the woods? I like the sound of that. And your No. 2 is very catchy. I love your flannel frock, which is the star of this show, and of course you! I like the pattern and length, and your getting-down-to-business pose.

Auto button sewing AND auto button holes? Gaaa! It's a miracle. I'm so happy for you - I feel like you should be having something like a wedding shower but for your sewing machine.

    1. You know, flannel as in pjs and shirts for lumberjacks and/or hunters...

ooo, it also automatically cuts the thread, pulls it to the bottom and knots it when you finish a seam. ooo, and it automatically ties a knot on the underside when you start a seam. and it tells you when you're going to run out of bobbin thread. Then when you do, you can wind a new bobbin through the threaded needle without having to unwind/rewind your machine. oh my.

  8. Flannel Frolics? You caught me off guard with this one and it's still early. Your new Viking sounds like a dream come true. I thought my serger was life altering (and it was) but this sounds like the next step to Empyrean, Elysian Fields, Nirvana, or Heaven. Take your pick.

Oh, and how about Funky Flannel Forever? Nah, let me have my coffee and get back to you. XXOO
