Hey! Someone Made Me A Quilt!

Out of my fabric scraps, no less.

~ Can you believe it?! ~

~ Well, neither can I ~

It was completely unexpected and a wonderful, thrilling surprise.

~ ta-dah! ~

This is what I happened to have on when she gave it to me.  One of four of those "Hot House Dresses" I've been making lately (but haven't been photo-ing), last seen here.

And here's a close up THE QUILT:

~ sigh ~

I've already slept with it.  I even shared it with my True Love.

Jackie, the quilt-maker, told me she made it with both of us in mind.  The various grays for him and the the peachy-rusty-beigey-blushy colors for me.  How did she know?!

From whence it came...

~ my cotton stash ~

Here's the tower of quilting cottons that Jackie perused for scraps and remnants.   Other shelves hold other types of fabric, but you get the idea.  She actually ended up with two Whole Foods grocery bags full.  Still I had no idea.  Do you think she was thinking of doing this all along???

Wrapping up now with a shoe shot.

    1. Yes it is, isn't it? I think I'm at the end of those Hot House dresses as we move out of August. We'll see how the weather goes. I've suddenly moved into making undies, of all things!

  6. The quilt is beautiful! I like the way she has incorporated the shades of grey into the pattern. The dress is fab - great colour combo!

    1. Hey Shelley, I know, I could just gaze it for hours, a recall what each piece had been made into before.

Nothing like complimentary colors to make a dress go POW! This one is orange-orange-red with cobalt blue. yes.

  7. Your shoe shot has me drooling. Hahaha. How often to you hear that? Maybe you hear it often! Another fabulous hot house dress. You are too cool! Bold this time, and it suits well. The quilt, I have silent reverence for that piece. Wow. Just wow. Plus wow.

    1. Hey, it's Melanie again. Good thing I had that on, cuz I couldn't have held my ground with that quilt otherwise. I made something else with that fabric before and it was a complete fail. Good thing I had some left over for a Hot House dress for the win. I know, the quilt is just too good for words.
