awww,

~ photo bombed by True Love ~

meanwhile
~ good thing the photo's blurry ~

or this dress will knock your eyes out.  If that fails, there's always my pickle kickers...(isn't that what Melaine calls pointy-toed shoes?)

~ whoa ~

It's another pattern from Tina Givens, the Greta dress, which I modified by eliminating the welted pocket and adding two hanging ones instead.  I also raised the neckline, adding a contrast facing on the outside; lengthened the sleeves, adding a contrast trim and pleat with button.  Oh, and I eliminated 20" of skirt width due to the amount of fabric I had available.

~ with pockets to go-go ~

Lastly, here's my Tina Givens Becca coat overlaying everything.  It's corduroy and works well in the overly air conditioned room where the painting class is held.   Too bad you can't see more of it here, it's a lovely design, both front and back.

~ be still my heart ~

Thanks to Elaine, who photo-ed everything.  I wouldn't be here weekly without her!

  2. They're "winkle-pickers"! That's a term from the mod-60's UK. Love the outfit and the colours are straight out of my mod-60's teens too! Hah!

    1. Ahh, I stand corrected, winkle-pickers! What did I call them? oh yeah, pickle-kickers. Close enough I say. I was a red and purple Jimi Hendrix kinda gal in those days.

    1. Thanks bkind. Does this mean you do Tina Givens patterns too? If so, I have to see 'em. I mean to do a review post one of these days, I've made so many.

  4. Pickle stabbers. Winkle pickers. Who can keep track?! Heh. What counts is, yowza!!, freakin' awesome shoes to go with a freakin' awesome dress and coat. A favourite colour combo too. I think even if this were in focus, it would still be blurry 'cause it's too groovy. I love the photo of you and True Love! And thank you, Elaine!

    1. I am in no way tiny, Joni. It must be my flats. Or the camera angle. I'm 5'5 to his 6'2. Do you think I've shrunk due to old age?!

  7. One day you could hold up a painting!
Lurve the shoes and the groovy dress with the super cute hanging pockets. How simple! Definitely a cool idea I am stealing.
But the coat is the scene stealer for me! That hemline! Gorgeously created by you. Your man is adorable...as are you :-) xo Jazzy Jack

  9. I always thought you were very tall as you always look super confident with great poses and then I saw that picture with you and True Love and how sweet! I'm a petite woman, maybe 5' so I can't speak. You remind how much I fail miserably to update my blog with my creations.
