Making a Shift

I've been sewing nearly every day this week on a refashion to fit, made-from scratch shift.  Now there's a mouthful.  a RFMFS shift.  Better?

painting by Anita Dominoni.

It seemed to be tough going, but I am actually quite pleased with the final outcome.  It was the big patch pockets that did it for me.  Quite unexpected they were.  But that's how creative sewing is, you never know what's going to come out of the hat next - so to speak.  I'm going to wear it for the last day of my class tomorrow.

  1. I look forward to seeing it. I spent this weekend sewing, using fabric from my stash. I had some yardage purchased a long time ago and finally made a top and long skirt (together a dress). I think I need to tweak the top a little, however, and plan on doing that tomorrow.

Your Minima challenge is totally haunting me. I bypassed a few opportunities to go thrifting this past week, and I'm glad I did. I ended up sewing instead.

Have a great week. Thank you for my art infusion.

    1. oooo sounds exciting Jean, can't wait to see your ensemble! I'm wearing mine for Patti's visible Monday. I know what you mean about bypassing thrift stores. I have so much fabric I haven't used yet, not to mention clothes I can re-purpose, that thrifting seems like excessive consumption.
