A Bit of This and That

...is what I've been doing lately.  Finishing things up really.
~ artwork by Pamela Murphy ~

Two more pairs of shoes.  Some altering and mending.  A clutch bag,  kimono top, found shirt in a give-away box, a couple of tunics, my lady boots.  I think that's it.  All completed in the last few days.  So do click on the Fall Clothes page, under "A Bit of This and That" for quite an eye-full.

  1. You are geniuses - plural because there's too much for one. Your closet must be a glowing mound of texture, colour, pattern, and metallic goodness. Gluing patterned fabric on the shoes is a fantastic idea too. (Bwa-ha I just caught sight of your post called Cut the Shift)

    1. Oh Melanie, you are too funny. My closet is especially like that when I neglect to hang stuff up - which happens more often than not. I can appreciate it in all manner of arrangements...how else would I get any ideas?

The gluing shoe thing was not my cup of tea. It was started ages ago and I only finished cutting the excess fabric off now. I'd much rather paint shoes - I had to be too exact and patient which was simply not fun.

  2. I thought of you several times while my family was visiting. I'd saved a bunch of clothes to give to my daughter-in-law. Of course as I was (happily) doing so, I couldn't help thinking, "Oh, but I could make this-and-such out of that fabric!"

I also thought of you as I bought two pairs of pants on sale at Anthropology. My rational was that I never find pants that fit at thrift stores, and I'm not a good enough seamstress to make them. Hmmm. WWPD? Yes, what WOULD you do?! Sigh...time to re-read the Gospel of Pao to expiate my sins.

    1. Oh no Jean, banish the WWPD thought! I hardly think you're not up to making pants with what I've seen of your sewing finesse. Giving away clothes and buying things you want on sale are good deeds too, ya know. Just say 3 hail marys.

  3. Well I am just a-crushin' on them lipstick boots, and The Found Fairy definitely paid you a visit with that beautiful blouse.

You know what is sad, Pat? I had to buy practically orthopaedic shoes today, which I'll be blogging about next week. My feet are very elderly and uncooperative these days :O

    1. How is that possible, Lynne? Didn't I just see you sportin' high heels the other day? Oh, maybe that's why...

  4. I am mega impressed by the shirt to pants transformation on that page! I really wish I had the patience and time to do that because they really look brilliant.

    1. Sleeves into pant legs and you're half-way there, the easy half of course. Oh my, look at all the p&t you put into your beautiful button flowers and obis, Megan Mae!

  5. The recovered alligator fabric ox blood cowboy boot type shoes are magnificent. A bit of the Orient always spices up any outfit. Do you plan on wearing the two thing together? They look like they'd play well.

    1. Yes, yes I do as a matter of fact. Although they may very well go too good together! I did surprise myself yesterday and ended up wearing 3 of the above-mentioned things together. Can you guess which ones they were, Ms. Style Agent 909?
